The "Former Corpses" ate human flesh, so the government created facilities that sold bodies willed to the cause. As teens, your grandparents likely worked at one of these facilities called, "DINERS of the DEAD". The plan succeeded and within a few years, the "Undead" quietly disintegrated or went into politics.
